How ready is your plant for AI agents?

These are the same five dimensions we score with clients before every agent sprint: data, technology, process, people, and governance. Rate each statement honestly — the gap between confidence and capability is where programs stall.

1 · Data readiness

The data our key decisions depend on lives in connected systems — not in spreadsheets and personal drives.

If two systems disagree about a number (inventory, hours, cost), we know which one is the source of truth.

2 · Technology & infrastructure

Our core systems (ERP, CRM, files) can share data through APIs or an integration layer — not manual exports.

We have enterprise AI licensing in place (or a clear path to it) rather than employees using personal AI accounts.

3 · Process & operations

Our recurring manual work is documented well enough that a new hire could follow it — not tribal knowledge.

When we improve a process, we measure the before and after with real numbers.

4 · Talent & culture

Our team's practical, hands-on AI skill matches their enthusiasm for it.

Each function has someone who would genuinely own an AI initiative — not just attend the meetings.

5 · Governance & strategy

We have a policy for what company data can and cannot go into AI tools — and people know it.

Leadership has named an owner and a budget line for AI — it isn't an unfunded ambition.

on the 1–5 maturity scale we use in sprint pre-work
A real benchmark, for context: before a recent sprint at a ~$1B North American manufacturer, the client's own champions self-scored 3.6 overall — with readiness confidence at 4.9 but hands-on AI capability at just 2.2. That confidence-capability gap is the most common pattern we see, and it's why agent programs pair building with training.
